About City Chef

Hi, my name is Stuart and I am the City Chef. I live and work in Preston, Lancashire but travel all over the North West to provide fantastic food.

 

My passion for food started 17 years ago, recreating dishes my wife and I enjoyed in restaurants for a
special meal at home. From there I started watching food shows and recreating dishes that took my eye,
but with my own spin on the flavours. This birthed an experimental approach to dining and an exploratory
and inquisitive attitude towards food always assessing how a dish is created;
How did the chef get the flavour profile?
How was it balanced?
How would it work with this added or that taken away?


My food philosophy has grown to understand the value and benefit of using a “nose to tail” approach -
the whole ingredient - in both the creation and visual appeal of a dish.

My vision is to provide a bespoke culinary experience using locally grown fresh produce. Together we plan your dining experience, whether it's for a private dining experience, event or corporate functions. I base the menu on our conversations to provide a tailor made experience.

I want to take you and your guests on a culinary journey from the food you eat to the wine you drink. It's important to me that your experience is the best it can be.
